Quizzes
For each week there is not an exam, there will be a short quiz (10-15 minutes) at the beginning of your discussion section.  Your two lowest quiz scores will be dropped.  There will be no make-up quizzes given for any reason.  You must take the quiz in the discussion section for which you are registered.

Exams
We will have two midterm exams during the quarter and a comprehensive final exam.   Make-up exams will only be given for university excused absences and must be arranged in advance with the lead TA and the instructor.  The exam dates are given below so plan accordingly.
Midterm 1
Friday, October 26th
Midterm 2
Friday, November 30th
Final Exam
Thursday, December 13th, 6:00-8:00 PM

Grading
Your grade will be based on your performance on quizzes, midterms, and the final.  The weights for each of these are as follows:
Quizzes (best 5 of 7)
20%
Midterm 1
20%
Midterm 2
20%
Final Exam
40%

Homework

Homework will be assigned daily, but it will not be collected or graded.  It is up to you to keep up with assignments.  Completing the homework is crucial for most students to do well in the course.  If you need to do more problems than what I assign, do them.  Do not fall behind on your homework because understanding new material requires that you understand previous sections.  The quiz problems will be based on the homework.

Calculators
Your homework, quizzes, and exams may require the use of a calculator.  Any scientific calculator will be sufficient.  If you forget to bring your calculator to a quiz or exam, one will NOT be loaned to you and you may NOT share with someone in the class.

Prerequisites

You will be dropped from the course if you have not satisfied one of the following
Students with Disabilities
