Mathematics Degree Requirements
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT
In Fall 2006, the undergraduate degree requirements were restructured for all of our majors.
- For all new students who entered UC Davis as of Fall 2006 or later, they MUST follow the current requirements.
- For students who entered UC Davis prior to Fall 2006, they may elect to follow the current requirements OR remain with the ones that were in place at the time they entered the university.
Major requirements and sample schedules are listed below. Relative to the Fall 2006 degree requirement restructuring, a selection
of Frequently Asked Questions is also available.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS and PLANNING
These planning sheets are for guiding and scheduling coursework
for all three tracks of the Math Major. Your program MUST be
approved by your faculty adviser and written approval MUST be on file in our student services office. Otherwise, there could be an unanticipated delay in graduation. Any questions? Please send an email to studentservices@math.ucdavis.edu.

If you matriculated to the university in Fall 2006 or later, you must use these
requirements.
Continuing students who matriculated prior to Fall 2006 are encouraged to follow
the current requirements, but may elect to continue with the requirements in
place at the time they entered the university.
- MAJOR INFORMATION for the 2003-04 or 2004-06 Catalog
If you are a new student to the university as of Fall 2006, you
must follow the new 2006-08 requirements listed above. If you are
a continuing student, you may elect to continue with the
requirements in place at the time you
entered the university, or you may elect to
follow the new ones.
