Major requirements, study plans, and sample schedules are listed below. The study plans are for guiding and scheduling coursework
for each of the majors in the Department: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Mathematics & Scientific Computation.
Please note that your study plan MUST be approved by your faculty adviser and a copy of your approved study plan MUST be on file
in the Student Services Office, room 1130. Failure to file your approved study plan could result in an unanticipated delay in

SINGLE SUBJECT MATH PROGRAM (SSMP)
Are you seeking subject matter competence for the California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics? Applicants for a California Preliminary Single Subject Teaching
Credential in Mathematics must verify their "subject matter competence" to teach mathematics in one of two ways:
The Department of Mathematics has a CA-approved subject matter preparation program for the Single Subject Teaching Credentialing in Mathematics. The courses comprising the program
are listed on the Single Subject Math Waiver Checklist. Students who complete all required courses at UCDavis may contact
Dr. Ali Daddel for a letter verifying their completion of these courses and thus their subject
matter competence for the CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics.
