About Me
Hi there. My name's Gabriel, and I'm a 3rd year graduate student at the
University of California, Davis. A grad student in mathematics,
obviously, because there's no other way you could have found me
otherwise (look at the url for a hint).
My other interests include music snobbery, trying to play guitar,
photography, the game of Go, and hiking/camping/backpacking.

Education
My CV
- B.S. Mathematics, University of Oregon, June 2004
- M.A. Mathematics, University of California, Davis (once I fill
out paperwork)
Research
My area of research interest is geometry and negatively curved spaces,
more specifically, geometric group theory and the theory of negatively
curved groups. My advisor is (tentatively) Misha Kapovich, although I'm
still technically on my own. To learn more about geometric group
theory, see:
For stuff I'm interested in, some papers I've read (not all
specifically what I'm into, but related):
If you really want to learn more about non-positive curvature,
you should pick up THE BIBLE
People I know who are interested in the same stuff:
Talks and Presentations
Eventually I will scan and post slides/notes for talks I have given.

- Braiding in the Mapping Class Group
RFG presentation, Geometric Group Theory
- Diophantine Equations and Fuchsian Groups
