Announcements
- (3/30)If you need to email me, please put [16A] at the beginning of the subject line. Thank you.
- (3/30) I will be away from Davis Wednesday afternoon through Sunday (4/1-4/5). I will have a sub for Friday lecture. Homework and quiz will still be due/happen. I should still be able to check my email, and will respond if I can.
- The most popular choice for late-week office hours is
Thursday, 12:30-1:301:00-2:00. This will start next week (April 9).
- Midterm Review Guide and Differention rules handout.
- I will hold extra office hours this week: Wednesday 2-3, Thursday 4-6, and maybe more by request.
- May 18: Extra office hours before the second Midterm: Tusday at 3:30, Wednesday 2-3, Thursday 4-6.
- Midterm #2 review guide
- Quiz Redo. I promised you extra-credit in the form of a quiz redo. Here is how it will work.
- On wednesday, when you turn in your final homework, attach a sheet asking me which quiz you want to redo.
- On Wednesday afternoon at 5PM, I will post the modified quizzes on the website.
- If you want your redo quiz to be considered, you must turn in both your original quiz and the redo quiz. I will not consider your redo if you do not submit the original.
- Note, the redo quiz will be tougher than the original quiz. The idea is that if you have had more time to work with the material, I expect you to understand it better.
- This is meant to be non-collaborative. Please do your own work on this.
- You will turn in the redo quiz to me on Thursday at my office: I will leave an envelope for you to leave it in if I am not there.
- Your old score will be replaced by your new one, even if it is a lower score.
- I will not accept late submissions.
- Office Hours for the last week of class and before the final
- Wednesday: 1:30
- Thursday: 1-2, 4:30-6
- Friday: 10-12
- By Appointment
- The Tutoring Fundraiser I alluded to in class will happen on Friday June 5th, 1-6 in room 1147 of the Math Sciences Building. They are asking for $10 for all-day access. Ask me for more information.
- Final review guide.
- Quiz Redo. Note a TYPO on Quiz #6. What says ``f''> 0 for all x'' should be ``f''> 0 for x < 0 and f'' < 0 for x >0''. I won't count it against you if you worked with the typo version.
Homework, quizzes, and exams.
Homework is due at 8:05 AM every Wednesday. Homework turned later
than 8:05:01 AM will not be accepted. All homework must be stapled,
name
clearly written on the front, readable and neatly presented. Reading
assignments are actual assignments! I may quiz you on reading
assignments even if we haven't yet covered that section in class.
Homework assignments and due dates posted below.
There will be weekly quizzes, usually on Fridays. The quizzes will
be two or three homework-like problems and definitions from the
previous week's lectures. They are to make sure you're understanding
the homework and practice you up for the exams. There will be 2 midterm
exams, on
- Friday, April 24
- Friday, May 22
You MUST be here for the midterms. If you have a documented emergency
and cannot make one of the midterms, I will adjust your final exam
score. There are no make-ups for the final.
