Fractals

Here are some small samples of some fractal pictures I have made.
My classics are here.

(about the making of these fractals)

I've been convinced that I should sell my fractals...so I'm now selling my fractals. I have two online stores:
deviantArt - currently has very few items, but has good prices.
CafePress - currently has a few more items, but is more expensive.

As I wrote in the stores:
This is unique fractal artwork made (mostly) with Fractal Explorer.  Custom artwork is available on request (for prices similar to non-custom work, depending on the intricacy of the request), and I'm happy to adjust colors for free.

Please ask me if you want to use my fractals, and please do not print these yourself!
(In any case, these would not print out well at 4x6, and *very* poorly any larger.)

"Crack" -- this was in my creative phase of naming (edit: apparently, this wasn't a phase) (10/3/2002)

"Vermillion Fantasy" (9/6/2003)

"Vermillion Fantasy: Reworked" -- I later decided that I like the simple version better, but each has its own appealing qualities. (9/6/2003)

"Night Blooming" -- may appear very dark on CRT monitors. (9/16/2003)

"Night Blooming: Sky Mod" -- I came upon this while reworking the colors of some earlier fractals. (3/31/2004)

"Ripples" (9/24/2003)

"Shadow Following" -- from the tale of Tinúviel, by Tolkien, "and her hair like shadow following."(4/3/2004)

I'm currently primarily using Fractal Explorer. For now, I do minor alterations and color adjustments with Adobe ImageReady (I could only use Adobe Photoshop with the Haverford College license). It's far, far less capable than Adobe Photoshop, so I would appreciate donations to the Aaron-needs-Adobe-Photoshop fund more than you can imagine.

Up until Spring 2005, I used a freeware fractal program called Tiera-Zon, made by Stephen Ferguson -- the website is down or has moved, but you can download it from Fractalus. I mostly use the fractals I create as backgrounds for my computer. I've printed and framed a few as gifts. I'd be happy (and flattered) to give copies of any fractal I have at reasonable resolutions for private and *non-printed* use. For printed or public use, I may ask for a small fee for the use--but would certainly consider exceptions in exchange for greater exposure or a good cause! (I can't imagine how my fractals would work towards supporting a good cause, but if you can think of it, you're welcome to it.)

Fractalus is a nice place to go for some fractal images and lots of fractal software.

I haven't used UltraFractal (shareware--30 day trial), but it appears to be an excellent piece of software and seems very popular with fractal artists.
