2009 REU on Combinatorics of Affine Reflection Groups

Affine reflection groups are infinite groups that are finitely generated by
reflections. Their structure turns out to be related to many topics in modern
abstract algebra and representation theory. In this REU, we seek to understand
their algebraic properties using combinatorial models and results that
generalize those of the the classical symmetric groups and affine symmetric
groups.
See the REU notes for more details.
See also the slides from a talk for undergraduates about the affine symmetric group.
