Travel Information

The University of California, Davis is located in Davis, approximately fifteen miles west of Sacramento. Davis is accesible by two freeways: Interstate 80 and California State Highway 113.

The nearest airport to Davis is Sacramento International Airport (code SMF). Alternate airports are Oakland International Airport (code OAK, 77 miles from Davis) and San Francisco International Airport (code SFO, 84 miles from Davis).

Amtrak's Capitol Corridor line runs through Davis with daily service.

Travel on NSF funding

Any air transportation to, from, between, or within a country other than the U.S. of persons or property, the expense of which will be assisted by NSF funding, must be performed by or under a code-sharing arrangement with a U.S.-flag air carrier if service provided by such a carrier is available. Traveling to Davis from Sacramento Airport

The closest airport is in Sacramento (SMF). To get back and forth between the airport you can either:

1. Take the Yolobus (about $2, over an hour ride though)
2. Take the Davis Airporter (Roughly $20 and reservations must be made at least a day in advance)
3. Take a taxi (Roughly $40)

The map below shows the southern half of campus. The Mathematical Sciences Building (MSB) is just south east of the center of this map. MSB is north west of the Mondavi Center (pictured in both the maps below and above). An interactive version of the map is most helpful, and a PDF copy can be viewed/downloaded here.

Visitors permits may be purchased in Visitors Parking lot 47 (VP 47) for $6.00. There is no free parking on or near campus. VP 47 is the closest parking lot to the Department of Mathematics and is located southwest of the Mathematical Sciences Building. Additional details can be found here.

Lodging Information

The ideal place to stay in Davis is in downtown. Downtown is very small and easily manageable by foot. Once in downtown, you have easy access to dining and campus.

Some downtown lodgings include:

• Best Western University Lodge (map to 123 B St.)
• Econo Lodge: almost always the cheapest option (map to 221 D St.)
• Hallmark Inn (map to 110 F St.)

If you will have a car and do not need to stay in downtown, you can get a cheaper rate on a hotel in Davis at:
