Research Interests
My Research Interests are related to mathematical biology, specifically, the relationship between three dimensional structures of biological molecules and cellular function.
Dynamics of Tosional Stress in DNA: We model the transport of transciptional stress in DNA as an elastic rod at low Reynolds number.
Genomic Distributions of Inverted Repeats: We are also engaged in studying the genomic distribution of inverted repeats with the potential for cruciformation in vivo. We provide upper bound cutoffs for imperfect inverted repeats within genomic DNA beyond which cruciform extrusion is highly improbable and analyze the location and type of large numbers of small IRs within these bounds.
We are also interested in the competition of clusters of extrusionally susceptible inverted repeats and other structures including SIDD.
