COMMENTS:
Please bear in mind that talking, cellphone ringing, newspaper reading, etc. disrupt the lectures.
If you have any problem at all that requires special accomodation, please let me know well in advance! In particular, the Student Disability Center asked me to post this message:
Exams (with solutions) from the last time I taught this course are available here. However, material presented in the lectures will be the basis for the exams. A few additional sample finals are available on the Math Dept.'s Sample Final Exams page.
Homework will be assigned every Wednesday, and will be due on the following Wednesday, by the end of the lecture. The homework will then be graded by graders as soon as possible, then returned to the boxes in the basement of Wellman Hall. Each assigned homework will have equal weight in the final homework score.
Since grading a homework assignment takes about a week, you may not get your last assignment back before a midterm. If you need that assignment to study, I suggest you make a copy of it before you hand it in.
Late homework will not be accepted under any circumstances, as it is a major inconvenience to the graders.
Use of books, notes, and calculators will not be allowed on any exam.
There will be no make-up exams. A missed exam counts as 0 points.
Solutions for the midterms will be posted here.
