Homework will be collected each Monday by 8:00 am in class. If you cannot attend class, then slip the homework under the door of my office at least 20 minutes before class on the day it is due. Selected problems will be graded and solutions for graded problems will be posted by the end of each week. NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED. The two lowest homework scores for each student will be dropped. Hints for homework: If you get stuck on a problem, first look back through the section and class notes before giving up. You might find an example to help you, or a definition that may help.
Staple papers together. Put your name and the due date on the upper right corner of your paper. Please write legibly, especially your name. Do not fold papers. Homework will be returned in class unless you indicate, in writing, that you prefer picking them up directly from the insturctor. Homework not picked up in class will be available for pickup in office hours.
There will be two non-cumulative midterms on April 20 and May 18.
Solutions to Midterm 1 can be found here.
Solutions to Midterm 2 can be found here.
The final exam will be given on Thursday June 14, 4:00 - 6:00pm in room RESSLR 55.
The final is cumulative. There will be NO MAKE-UP EXAMS. No calculators are allowed on any exam.
There is no extra credit.
Thursdays: I will use the scheduled ``discussion'' time, Thursday 8:00-8:50am, as a regular lecture. In essence, think of class being four days a week, M, W, TH, F 8:00 - 8:50am. There is a lot of material to cover, and this will allow us to go a bit slower and more thoroughly go through the required material.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY POLICY: Cheating on exams will not be tolerated. Students are expected to adhere to the UCD Code of Academic Conduct at all times. If a student is suspected of cheating, the matter will be referred to Student Judicial Affairs and they will handle the issue.
