Exam 1: Monday April 21.

Covers all Chapter 1.1-1.7 and 3.1-3.2

Exam 2: Friday May 16.
To study, do problems from the book until you can solve problems relatively quickly without looking at the text.

Sample Problem
for final exam.  Also, all material from the first two midterms is fair game.  I should note that I have no qualms about putting the exact problems from earlier midterms on the final.  I liked the problems then and I like them now, so please make sure that you can solve the problems from the first two midterms.  There will be about 10 problems, so the final will be about 66% longer that a midterm, with 120% more time. 

Tip: You can tell that you understand something if you can solve a problem without using the book, so please sovle problems until you can do it using only your brain, a pencil and (blank) piece of paper.
