Academic dishonesty and class disruption hurt us all; they are unfair to honest, conscientious students who want to learn and who are doing their own work; they impair the ability of students to focus and do well in the course; and, ultimately, they devalue the meaning, quality, and excellence of a UC Davis education and degree. Do not work on graded assignments with other students unless expressly permitted by the instructor.
Know the rules – ignorance is no defense. Students who violate campus rules regarding academic misconduct will be reported to Student Judicial Affairs and will be subject to disciplinary action, which can include suspension and dismissal. For further information, please see the UC Davis Code of Academic Conduct and other documents at Student Judicial Affairs.

It is OK to work together on homework assignments, as long as each person participates actively. Groups of 2 or 3 are OK, but do not let the groups get too large. If you want to set up study groups to discuss concepts, etc., I am willing to try to get a room for you.
Never copy or borrow from other texts or materials not made available explicitly for this class. Acceptable materials are our textbook or materials posted on this website. Understand what plagiarism is, essentially submitting somebody else's work as your own, and understand the serious consequences that can result. Perusing the web page of Student Judicial Affairs should help if you are unclear about either the concept or the consequences.
