We will be using Introductory Linear Algrebra: An Applied First Course, 8th Edition by B. Kolman and D. Hill. We will cover parts of chapters 1, 3, 6, 8, and 10, as well as material from the online notes available at http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~linear/.
There will be one midterm and a final exam. The final grade will be computed as follows.

Homework will be assigned twice per week. The homework assignments will be due at the beginning of class every Wednesday and Friday. Late homework will not be accepted. The assignments will be posted on the course web site. Homework will be graded on both correctness and completeness. For homework, calculators are allowed. You are welcome to discuss your homework with other students. However, the final product must be your own.
There will be a scheduled quiz every Friday and the occasional pop-quiz. The questions will be drawn from the homework assigned that week. You may not use any books, notes, or calculators on the quizzes.
You may not use any books, notes, or cell phones on the exams. Legitimate excuses for missing an exam (such as verified illness or serious family emergencies) in all cases must be approved, preferably in advance. Unexcused absences from any exam will receive a score of "0".
