Hi, I'm Sonya Berg, welcome to my webpage.
I am a fifth year graduate student in the math department at UCD.

Research
My research interests are in the intersection of quantum algorithms, complexity, algebra, and combinatorics. More specifically, I am interested in finding polynomial time quantum algorithms to compute isomorphisms between algebraic objects (like group algebras and matrix algebras in the familiar Fourier transform). I am especially interested in quantum algorithms for the cases where the algebraic objects are representations of quantum groups or Hecke algebras.
My thesis advisor is Greg Kuperberg. I took my qualifying exam on February 27, 2008. Here is the talk I presented.
