Announcement: Starting on Tuesday (8/22), Matthew Low will hold regular office hours which are open to all Math 16 students. They will be on MW 12-1:30pm and T Th 2:30-4pm in MSB 3110. Homework will be collected each Tuesday – Friday by 9:50
AM. You may turn in your homework
in class, or in office hours.
Selected problems will be graded and solutions for graded problems will
be posted by the end of each week.
NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED. The two lowest HW scores for each student will be dropped. Students are encouraged to work in
groups on homework assignments.
Hints for homework: If you
get stuck on a problem, first look back through the section and class notes
before giving up. Perhaps you will
find an example similar to your problem, or a definition that may help you.
There will be four cumulative Quizzes on August 11,
August 18, September 1, and September 8.
Each quiz will be given during the last 15 minutes of class. Quiz problems will be taken from the
even problems in the Chapter Review Exercises of the chapters that we have
covered or are currently covering.
There will be one cumulative Midterm on August 25,
8:00 – 8:50 AM in Chem 176.
The Final Exam will be given on September 15, 8:00 –
8:50 AM in Chem 176.
All quizzes, midterm and final are cumulative. There will be NO MAKE-UP EXAMS. No Calculators allowed on exams.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY POLICY: Cheating on exams will not be
tolerated. Students are expected
to adhere to the UCD Code of Academic Conduct at all times. If a student is
suspected of cheating, a letter will be written to Student Judicial Affairs and
they will handle the issue.
How to do well in this class:
