T:  12-1; 4-5

Th: 4-5

F: 10-11; 2-3; 4-5

Announcement:  Students are responsible for all information on this page.  Please read thoroughly.

Students are responsible for information covered in class AND in the sections we cover in the book.  I cannot possibly cover every example in class, so it is important to read the book at home.

Practice Problems

Homework will be collected each Wednesday by 8:00 AM IN CLASS.  If you cannot attend class, then slip the homework under the door to my office at least 20 minutes before class on the day it is due.  Selected problems will be graded and solutions for graded problems will be posted by the end of each week.  NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.  The two lowest HW scores for each student will be dropped.  Students are encouraged to work in groups on homework assignments.  Hints for homework:  If you get stuck on a problem, first look back through the section and class notes before giving up.  Perhaps you will find an example similar to your problem, or a definition that may help you.

Staple your papers together. Put your name and the due date on the upper right corner of your paper.  Please write legibly, especially your name.  DO NOT fold papers.  Papers will be returned in class unless you indicate, in writing, that you prefer picking them up directly from the insturctor. Homework not picked up in class will be available for pickup in office hours.

There will be two, non-cumulative Midterms on January 26 and February 23, 8:00 - 8:50 AM in Chem 176.

The Final Exam will be given on Wednesday March 21, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM in room Chem 176.

The final exam is cumulative.  There will be NO MAKE-UP EXAMS.  No Calculators allowed on any exam.

THERE IS NO EXTRA CREDIT

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY POLICY: Cheating on exams will not be tolerated.  Students are expected to adhere to the UCD Code of Academic Conduct at all times. If a student is suspected of cheating, a letter will be written to Student Judicial Affairs and they will handle the issue.

2.   Students participating in official university athletic, musical, or similar events which causes them to miss a midterm or the final should contact the instructor as soon as they know of such a scheduling conflict.
