Announcements:
- Here is a list of useful equations which will be provided to you on the final.
- I will have office hours during finals week (exclusively for 16C students) Monday (3/14) and Wednesday (3/16) from 2-3 pm.
- There will be a smartsite page for our class where you can access your grades.
- No calculators, cell phones, or other electronic devices are allowed during the exam.
Homework: I will assign homework weekly - see below, but it will not be graded, and does not count towards your grade.I STRONGLY recommend that you do all of the homework because all exams will be based on the material you learn from doing the homework.
Exams: There will be 2 in-class exams and 1 final exam. The in-class exams will be on Monday, January 24 and on Friday, February 18. The final exam is on Friday, March 18, 1-3 pm. There are NO MAKE-UP exams. A missed exam will result in a zero grade. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Plan your schedule NOW according to these dates.
Grades:Your final grade will be computed as follows
| Midterm 1:   | 30% |
| Midterm 2: | 30% |
| Final: | 40% |
You must receive at least 50% credit on the final exam to pass the course, regardless of your other grades.
There will be NO MAKE-UP exams. If one of the midterm exams is missed due to a documented medical emergency then the course grade will be computed as follows: Midterm 50%, Final 50%.
Schedule: We will follow the departmental syllabus.

Additional Notes and Thoughts:
- Please practice your homework without the use of a graphing calculator. You will be expected to know how to graph without the aid of a calculator so please be sure to review this.
- To do well in this class you should be prepared to study 3 hours outside of class for every hour in class, i.e. reviewing notes, reading the book, and doing homework. There is no time to fall behind. This means you must be diligent about your work and set aside time each day to study.
