Announcements:

• The final exam is Tues. Dec. 11 3:30 - 5:30 pm in Kleiber 3.
• Becca will have extra office hours on Friday Dec. 7 from 1-3 pm in MSB 3214. Becca will not have office hours on Monday Dec. 10 - please go to either Daniel's or Diana's listed below.
• Daniel will have extra office hours on Monday Dec. 10 from 12-2 pm in MSB 3131.

Exams: There will be two midterm exams in class and a separately scheduled final exam. The midterms will be on Wednesday October 17 in class and on Wednesday November 7 in class. The final will be on Tuesday, December 11 3:30 pm - 5:30pm and will be cumulative. THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP EXAMS, so please schedule your activities accordingly. All exams will be closed book with no calculators or electronic devices allowed.

Homework: There will be weekly homework assignments, due each Wednesday in class. I will post assignments in class and also on the course web-page. I encourage you to form study groups for the homework and exam preparation, but each person must write up their own copy of the homework to turn in. No late homework will be accepted but I will drop one homework score.

Quizzes: There will be weekly quizzes on Fridays, which will be taken from the homework questions. No make-up quizzes will be offered, but I will drop one quiz score, and there will be no quiz the week of exams.

Grades:

Midterms:	25% each
Final:	30%

There will be NO MAKEUP EXAMS. If one of the midterm exams is missed because of a documented medical emergency, then the course grade will be computed as follows: Homework 10%, Quizzes 10%, Midterm 35%, Final 45%.

Lab: Math 22AL is an online computer lab. The course is required to be taken concurrently with Math22A unless you already know matlab or you have already taken Engineering 6. There is only one formal meeting time for Mat22AL, see this handout for dates, times, locations.

Other Important Information:

• Adding/Dropping the course: The last day to add a course this quarter is Oct. 12, the last day to drop a course is Oct. 24.

• Cheating Policy: I will not tolerate cheating in this course, and I will follow the guidelines set forth by the University to punish those caught cheating. I will be checking identification at all exams, and will photocopy a random sample of exams before returning them. Please maintain the high academic standards of this University.
