FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT Lie Groups, Lie Algebras and their Representations University of California, Riverside, January 17-18, 2009 The Winter 2009 workshop in the program Lie Groups, Lie Algebras and Their Representations will take place on the campus of the University of California, Riverside, January 17 and 18, 2009. Wee Liang Gan (wlgan@ucr.edu) is the local organizer. The workshops "Lie Groups, Lie Algebras and their Representations" meet at various western United States campuses for one weekend every few months during the academic year. They are supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. This workshop is supported in addition by the University of California, Riverside. The purpose of the program is to communicate results and ideas rather than to deliver polished presentations. The program also serves to acquaint graduate students in this area with a range of researchers in Lie theory and representation theory. The lectures will be held in the Department of Mathematics located on the second floor of Surge building. More details and updates will be posted as they become available.
