Robert Lewis Wasser Memorial Scholarship
Made possible from an endowment that was initiated by a contribution from Robert Lewis Wasser's grandmother, Vera Mae Wasser, recipients of this award are determined through a mathematics competition coordinated by the Department's Mathematics Contest Committee. Held annually in the Spring, this competition is open to all full-time freshmen and sophomores at UC Davis. Monetary prizes are given to the first place winner with prizes also going to honorable mentions.

This scholarship is given to the winner of the Robert Lewis Wasser Mathematics contest.
Who is eligible?
Any full-time freshman or sophomore enrolled at UC Davis is eligible. In addition, high school students taking lower division Math classes at UC Davis may be considered. The Wasser Scholarship is a not a renewable scholarship. A qualified student may take the exam more than once, but can not receive the monetary prize more than once.
What is the award amount?
Typically $500 is awarded to the contest winner. Other prizes may be given to honorable mentions of the competition, but these are usually paid out through other departmental funds. What is the selection process?
A recipient is determined on the basis of his/her results on the Robert Lewis Wasser Mathematics contest, which is overseen by the Department's Undergraduate Mathematics Competition Committee. The winner is formally announced at the Department's annual Awards Ceremony.
