Prerequisite: Graduate standing or equivalent level of
maturity, some calculus, some linear algebra, some point set topology.
Attendance is not mandatory but is expected.
There will be weekly homework assignments. Homework will not be
collected or graded. Instead, students will present homework
solutions in class. Solutions will later be posted on SmartSite.
There will be two quizzes. Tentative quiz dates: October 27, November 21
Grades will be calculated as
follows: quizzes 35% each, class participation 20%, term paper 10%.
