Hello! My name is Mikhail Gaerlan, and I am a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics. I also graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics and am an alumnus of the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science.
I am currently a Quantitative Researcher for AlphaTrAI applying my knowledge of machine learning, mathematical modeling, data analysis, and optimization to asset management. I have almost a decade of research and programming experience working on a variety of research and school projects which are summarized in my portfolio here.
I love programming and have used various languages including Python, Java, Fortran, R, and MATLAB among others for use in a variety of subjects such as network science, dark matter research, computational fluid dynamics, and accelerator, particle, and nuclear physics.
