Quantum groups, affine Lie algebras and their applications Master Class 2007-2008. For the academic year 07-08. The Master Class is organized by the Mathematical Research Institute (MRI). The Master Class is affiliated to the research cluster Geometry and Quantum Theory (GQT) between the University of Amsterdam, the University of Utrecht and the Radboud University Nijmegen.
The coordinators of the Master Class are Eric Opdam, Jasper Stokman and Johan van de Leur.

Interactions between Algebraic Combinatorics, Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory, with an emphasis on the study of subjects such as the Cohomology of Schubert Varieties, Hilbert Schemes, Gromov-Witten Invariants, and their ties with Symmetric Functions such as Macdonald Polynomials, as well as problems of enumerative geometry in the real, complex and tropical contexts.
