Stochastic processes with nearest neighbor interactions, e.g. percolation, spin systems and Markov chains, have been studied extensively in recent (and not so recent) decades. Not less natural are processes with long-range interactions. In this talk I will present some of the work done on long-range processes, starting with early work from the 1970-s and the 1980-s and ending with a number of recent results.
