SIAM stands for the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. We are a community of mathematicians, statisticians, engineers, scientists and more with the goal of sharing opportunities and advice for navigating careers in and out of academia. Our events range from social gatherings, job talks, career panels, tech tutorials, occasional fundraisers, and conferences!
I'm an undergrad. Can I join?
Yes! We want involvement at all stages of the academic career, from freshmen to emeritus! Membership is free for UC Davis students in the Chapter!
What are the benefits to joining SIAM?
Tons! Free membership in two SIAM activity groups on particular areas of applied mathematics. Subscription to SIAM News (via email). Subscription to SIAM Review (electronic access only). Eligibility for greatly reduced SIAM conference registration rates (up to 85% discount off non-member fee). Eligibility to hold office and serve on SIAM committees. 30% discount on all SIAM books.
