Natural Scene Representation and Modeling

Applied Math

Speaker: Ying Nian Wu, Statistics, UCLA
Location: 693 Kerr
Start time: Fri, May 24 2002, 4:10PM

Natural scenes are characterized by rich and subtle details, and it is necessary to find good representations and models for these details and their organizations in order to understand vision, especially the first steps of visual perception. In this talk, I will review several projects I did with my coauthors on modeling visual textures, sketch patterns, and dynamic scenes, and examine the representations and models involved.
