Weyl groups are very special (but also very common) finite groups which often appear in combinatorial problems. However, they also play a large role in the theory of Lie groups, providing a point of connection between geometry and combinatorics. In this talk I will give an introduction to the study of Weyl groups and explain one way that they appear in the study of Lie groups.
