Idempotents for Weakly Ordered Semigroups

I will introduce the notion of finding a complete system of orthogonal idempotents for an algebra. From there, I will produce a complete system of orthogonal idempotents for algebras generated by weakly ordered semigroups. This includes a construction of idempotents for the 0-Hecke algebra. This is ongoing joint work with Nantel Bergeron, Sandeep Bhargava and Franco Saliola.
