Oriented skein relation and a biological applicationGeometry/Topology
|Speaker:||Candice Price, University of Iowa|
|Start time:||Tue, Oct 4 2011, 3:10PM|
My research area is DNA topology which uses topology to study the conformation of DNA-protein interactions. This talk will focus on dissertation work which uses the skein triple to understand the interaction of DNA with two types of proteins: topoisomerases and site-specific recombinases. I will also discuss a biological application of this work called difference topology.
