Description
I will review how to count plane curves, both complex and
real, by tropical geometry following Mikhalkin. Then I will discuss a
new q-analog version of tropical curve counting, that recovers the
complex and real version as special cases. The tropical q-counts
conjecturally agree with a recent algebra-geometric invariant of
Goettsche and Shende.
This is joint work with Lothar Goettsche.
