The Nash problem for families of arcs

Geometry/Topology

Speaker: János Kollár, Princeton University
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Tue, Feb 19 2013, 4:10PM

An arc on a complex space X is a holomorphic map of the unit disc to X. In 1967 Nash proposed some conjectures about the (infinite dimensional) space of all arcs. The aim of the talk is to explain the conjectures, review recent positive and negative results and propose a possible new variant.

There will be a dinner for the speaker.
