A dimension reduction of the Hermitian-Yang-Mills equations on non-compact curvesSpecial Events
|Speaker:||Adam J. Jacob, Harvard University|
|Start time:||Wed, Dec 17 2014, 4:10PM|
Consider a flat vector bundle E over a punctured Riemann surface. In this talk, I will define the Poisson metric equation on E, and give a general existence and uniqueness theorem for solutions. I will show how the equation arises naturally as the dimension reduction of the Hermitian-Yang-Mills equations on a holomorphic vector bundle over a K3 surface, and discuss its relationship with mirror symmetry. This is joint work with T.C. Collins and S.-T. Yau.
There will be a dinner in honor of the speaker.
