Agol introduced veering triangulations of mapping tori, whose combinatorics are canonically associated to the pseudo-Anosov monodromy. Guéritaud and Agol generalised an alternative construction to any closed manifold equipped with a pseudo-Anosov flow without perfect fits. Using Mosher's dynamic pairs, we prove the converse, showing that veering triangulations are a perfect combinatorialisation of such flows.
