Description
Boretsky-Eur-Williams showed that a point of the totally positive tropical flag variety gives a coherent subdivision of the permutahedron into Bruhat interval polytopes. On the other hand, such a point also defines an MV polytope. I will explain how the MV polytope has a similar decomposition into shifted scaled Bruhat interval polytopes. Moreover we can characterize MV polytopes as precisely those polytopes admitting such decompositions. This is joint work with Jonathan Boretsky.
