G. Thomas Sallee Math Teaching Award

Formally known as the Lower Division Teaching Award, this is awarded to an instructor who distinguishes themselves in the teaching of lower division undergraduate mathematics courses. The recipient is decided by the Department's Mathematics Contest Committee.

For whom is this award given?

This prize is given to instructors who excel in encouraging undergraduates to better understand the field of Mathematics.

Who is eligible?

Any instructor of lower division Mathematics courses at UC Davis may be chosen.

Recipients are determined on the basis of their instruction in the past year, which is reviewed by the Department's Undergraduate Mathematics Competition Committee. Winners are formally announced at the Department's Annual Awards Ceremony.
