A COMPETITIVE FACILITY LOCATION PROBLEM UNDER A CHANCE CONSTRAINT

Student-Run Research Seminar

Speaker: Shogo Shiode Kobe, University/ITD Davis

I consider a tree network on which there exist n demand points. There exist two competitive companies that plan to construct their own facilities on this network in a certain order. We assume that the weights of demand points are stochastic and each customer utilizes the nearest facility to him. The objective of each company is to locate the facilities so as to maximize the total buying power acquiring from the market under a chance constraint. Then we show some properties and present an efficient solution procedure to find a Stackelberg equilibrium solution by utilizing the properties.
