Global attractors for the 3D Lagrangian Averaged Navier-Stokes equations(LANS) on bounded domain.

Student-Run Research Seminar

Speaker: James Peirce, UCD Math Dept.
Location: 693 Kerr
Start time: Wed, Apr 18 2001, 1:10PM

I will introduce the Navier-Stokes equations. Discussing the well-posedness of classical and weak solutions and dimension of global attractor. I will then present the LANS equations. I will remind the audience of where the formula comes from(Prof Shkoller derived it in his talk last quarter at the GGAM seminar). Also I would like to discuss and outline the proofs of well-posedness of classical and weak solutions to LANS. If there is time remaining, I will discuss the global attractor for LANS.
