Intro Talk: Kaehler-Einstein metrics and higher alpha-invariants

Student-Run Geometry/Topology Seminar

Speaker: Heather Macbeth, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Tue, Mar 1 2016, 11:00AM

This is an intro talk for the afternoon seminar. I will describe a condition on the Bergman metrics of a Fano manifold M, which guarantees the existence of a Kaehler-Einstein metric on M. I will also discuss a conjectural relationship between this condition and M's higher alpha-invariants \alpha_{m,k}(M), analogous to a 1991 theorem of Tian for \alpha_{m,2}(M).
