A Brief Overview of Triangulating Polytopes

Student-Run Research Seminar

Speaker: Kevin Hartshorn, UC Davis
Location: 593 Kerr
Start time: Wed, Nov 14 2001, 12:00PM

I will offer a look at some of the topics and questions that have sparked my interest in polytopes and discrete geometry - starting with three dimensional "alpha shapes." I hope to say words to the effect of "regular triangulation" and "cyclic polytope." Definitely aimed at the non-specialist, this talk will indicate just a few of the questions still open in this field.
