A 2D system of random loops with projections onto different classical and quantum spin chain models

Different forms of symmetry breaking, exhibited in distinct families of quantum spin chains, can be viewed as reflections of a phase transition in a common loop system, one associated also with a classical Q-state random cluster model. As it turns out, these three different classical / quantum models are best understood when studied together.
