The generalized Benjamin-Bona-Mahony-Burgers equation (gBBMB) provides a toy model of blood flow in a long, viscoelastic artery. In this talk I will present a new formulation of gBBMB on a simple class of networks modelling a subset of the arterial tree. After introducing the basic physical ideas underlying this new formulation, I'll describe some local- and global-in-time well-posedness theory for the model. We will see that solutions exist for all positive times assuming some physically relevant compatibility condition on the coefficients of the governing equations. Finally, I'll showcase some numerical simulations of the model on a network with two edges joined at a single junction.
