Recent results on PDEs with potentials and the stability of kinks

PDE and Applied Math Seminar

Speaker: Fabio Pusateri, University of Toronto
Location: Zoom
Start time: Thu, May 26 2022, 4:10PM

We will discuss some recent results on nonlinear evolution equations with large potentials and applications to the stability of kinks (topological solitons) in 1d. If time permits, we will also discuss a proof of radiation damping for quadratic Klein-Gordon equations in 3d. Our approach to this class of problems is based on the use of the Fourier transform adapted to the Schrodinger operator, and the development of multilinear harmonic analysis in this setting.
