Random walks in random environments (RWRE), processes where a randomly chosen transition probability is assigned to each lattice point, have been introduced in the multi-dimensional setting by S.A. Kalikow in 1981. We will review the current status of four problems which he posed and present in greater detail a 0-1-law for the asymptotic direction of planar RWRE.
