Parasitic Worms, Stochastic Models, and Other Fun Stuff.

Student-Run Research Seminar

Speaker: Chris Dugaw, UC Davis
Location: 693 Kerr
Start time: Wed, Mar 5 2003, 12:10PM

I will present a stochastic model of the population dynamics of a parasitic worm and its insect host. I will provide an introduction to stochastic modeling, present analytic techniques that everyone can understand, and relate model results to the ecology of diseases . As a bonus, I will show some disgusting images of parasites, so fun should be had by all who attend.
