Student-Run Geometry/Topology Seminar

I will give an elementary talk about the relationship between the crossing number of an alternating knot and the Kauffman polynomial, in particular, with regard to the first Tait conjecture, which states that reduced alternating projections of alternating knots have minimal crossing number.
