Topological properties of graph homomorphisms

Student-Run Geometry/Topology Seminar

Speaker: Steve Klee, UC Davis
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Mon, Oct 10 2011, 4:10PM

In this talk, I will introduce the category of graphs. For a fixed pair of graphs G and H, we will explore a geometric cell complex that encodes all graph homomorphisms from G to H. For appropriate choices of G and H, we will see that the topology of this cell complex encodes interesting graph theoretic data.
