Solving the 3D Ising model with conformal bootstrap

Mathematical Physics Seminar

Speaker: Alessandro Vichi, UC Berkeley
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Thu, Oct 25 2012, 3:10PM

I will present recent developments in conformal field theories that allow to extract informations about the theory exploiting unitarity and crossing symmetry constraints. Model independent bounds on operator dimensions and OPE coefficients will be presented. In addition I will discuss how these techniques can be used to solve CFT's in a arbitrary space-time dimensions, with a focus on the three dimensional Ising model.
