Special Lagrangians, deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills, and stability.

Mathematical Physics Seminar

Speaker: Adam Jacob, UC Davis, Math. Dept
Location: 432 Phys Dept
Start time: Thu, Jan 7 2016, 3:10PM

In this talk I will introduce the deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation, which under the appropriate setup from mirror symmetry is dual to the special Lagrangian equation. I will demonstrate how it can be defined on a compact Kahler manifold, and give necessary and sufficient conditions for existence. Finally, I will discuss necessary stability conditions that arise from physics and algebraic geometry. This is joint work with T.C. Collins and S.-T. Yau.
