On the evolution of hypersurfaces by the mean curvature flow

In this talk I will present the progresses my collaborators and I made in the past few years. We developed a new way of studying mean curvature flow, as a result we can address some problems out of reach by the known techniques. For various possibilities we can obtain a detailed description of a fixed neighborhood of the generic singularities.
